The BCCI has suspended the 2020 season of the IPL - Indian Premier League owing to the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While the BCCI had initially postponed the IPL to April 15 (originally scheduled to begin March 29), it was imperative that the date would be extended further considering the spike in the number of Coronavirus cases in the country and the Prime Minister calling for an extension of the nationwide lockdown until May 3. This essentially poses a challenge to host a tournament in this summer and we, at Delhi Capitals, shall provide an update on the tournament as and when the next communication is shared.
We request every global citizen to adhere to strict protocols during these testing times and come together in solidarity to help eradicate this pandemic. Avoid stepping out and ensure you and your family are safe at home during this lockdown.
