Trent Boult’s Superhuman Effort
Having already taken a few stunning grabs for the Blackcaps, Trent Boult’s athleticism on the cricket field is well documented. But, what he did against the Royal Challengers Bangalore had everyone across the globe staring in awe with their jaws falling to the floor. He pulled off a screamer, a one-handed catch at the boundary to dismiss skipper Virat Kohli.

This moment of brilliance by Trent Boult is worth watching again and again and again! ❤#DilDilli #Dhadkega pic.twitter.com/2VvJh02TzN
Kohli flicked a full toss off Harshal Patel to deep square leg and looked assured of picking up six runs, only for Boult to time his jump to perfection and complete a ridiculously amazing wrong-handed catch, and then land on his stomach centimetres from the boundary ropes. Perhaps, his “How did I catch that?” expression after the catch was even better than the catch itself! Even Kohli was in the awe of the grab. “I was stunned when he took it, that's a brilliant catch. It happens in the IPL especially," Kohli said after the match. "Good to see. That's a catch when you look back, you don't feel bad about getting out,” Kohli added. Deservingly, Boult was awarded the Perfect Catch of the Season.
Rishabh Pant’s Record-smashing Century
Pant has redefined T20 batting and has mesmerised the crowds. After this season in particular, the world has stood up and taken notice of this talented young man. At 20-years of age, he has showed the ability to shine on the big stage. He is undoubtedly one of the most promising young T20 players at the moment.
Pant scored a brilliant century against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. His 128* runs off 63 balls against SRH included 15 boundaries and seven sixes. He reached the 50-run mark with his trademark hit, a six over midwicket off Shakib Al Hasan. He got to the hundred in similar fashion, muscling a full toss from Kaul for six over midwicket. The animated celebrations that followed were well deserved and it was a moment to cherish for Pant and DD.
With this, we conclude our segment of reliving the top 5 moments of the season 👉🏻 @RishabPant777 sent the records tumbling with a century of the highest order! 😍

Unbelievable hitting and one of the finest knocks of VIVO @IPL 2018! ❤️#DilDilli #Dhadkega pic.twitter.com/BJkLok40tm
He brought up his hundred in only 56 balls. This made him the second youngest player to score a century in the IPL. He toyed with the best bowling attack of the season and arguably one of the best T20 bowlers at the death, Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Pant hammered Bhuvi for 43 runs in 11 balls he faced, and his reverse shots over third man were a sight to behold and innovative to say the least.
One of the greats of the game Sir Viv Richards had some words of praise for the southpaw - “Delhi's Rishabh Pant has evolved as the new power hitter in the game and has also been smart with his batting when his team needed him.” No arguments there, sir!
Prithvi Shaw’s Maiden Half-century
Prithvi Shaw had already impressed a lot of people with his fearless strokeplay on debut in his brief innings of 22 from 10 balls. In the next game, he took it up a notch and struck his maiden half-century against the Kolkata Knight Riders. He played an authoritative innings of 62 runs from 44 balls which included seven fours and two sixes. His battle against veteran left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson was the highlight of his innings. Prithvi scored a boundary and six in Johnson’s second over and followed it up with another maximum in his third. With his first fifty, Shaw become the joint-youngest half-centurion as he completed the feat at 18 years and 169 days.

Jason Roy Powers Us to our First Win of the Season
Jason Roy started off his IPL journey for DD with a bang as he went on to play a match-winning and unbeaten knock of 91 runs off 53 balls against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Roy’s effort powered DD to their first win of the season and it also earned him the Man of the Match award on his DD debut.
Roy had opened the batting with Gambhir as DD were set a daunting target of 195. Jason ripped apart MI’s bowling attack along with Rishabh Pant. 11 runs were needed off the last over bowled by The Fizz, Mustafizur Rahman. Roy began the over by smashing Rahman for a four over cover and a six over fine leg, but with three successive dot balls to follow the pressure was on Roy. Eventually he held his nerve and scored the winning run for DD. What a moment it was when Roy, completely drenched with sweat, pumped his fists to celebrate a fine T20 victory.
Let's look back at the top 5 moments of our season in no particular order.

He absorbed the pressure well and put up an excellent performance to return with figures of 4-0-25-1.
