IPL announces schedule for the first two weeks, DC to begin campaign against MI

The schedule for the first 17 matches of the VIVO Indian Premier League 2019, which begins on 23rd March, has been announced. However, it is subject to the confirmation of the election dates for Lok Sabha 2019. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will host Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match of the 12th edition of India’s premier T20 tournament.

Delhi Capitals kickstart their season with an away game against Mumbai Indians, over whom we did the double last season, on 24th March 2019. With home games against Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad, we will also be facing our Northern rivals Kings XI Punjab in a mouth-watering set of fixtures to look forward to in the opening weeks of the season.

DC is the only team to play 3 home matches in the first two weeks, with every side playing a minimum of 2 home and 2 away games in the specified period. All franchises will be playing a minimum of 4 home matches, with only Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore taking part in 5 matches.

As soon as the polling dates are announced, BCCI has confirmed that it will address any issues with the existing arrangement and work with the local authorities to prepare the schedule for the remainder of the matches.
