The Delhi Capitals squad are all geared up as the IPL inches closer, and the last weekend remained a busy one for them. Ricky Ponting had arrived in Delhi on Wednesday, followed by most of our DC boys. Our skipper, Shreyas Iyer, came to Delhi on Friday. A big surprise awaited all, as Sourav Ganguly joined the squad soon after. With Ricky and Dada taking their charge, the first Delhi Capitals’ practice session started at Feroz Shah Kotla.
The experienced duo, along with Mohammad Kaif and Praveen Amre, formed a huddle with all our players and support staff. Ricky addressed everyone with a motivational speech, and the pumped up bunch of boys took the field. After five hours of practice session, the squad headed to their dressing room for another team-huddle and called it a day.
On Saturday, it was time for the players, captain, coaches and support staff to interact with the media. After answering all the press’s queries, they headed for the Day Two practice session, in the afternoon. The batsmen hit the nets in Kotla.
Our Gabbar, Shikhar Dhawan, arrived in Delhi on Sunday. While training was a constant on Day Three as well, the players enjoyed quite a lot during the shoot as well as a fun table-tennis session.
