Delhi Capitals returned to winning ways with a comfortable seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur, putting in a strong all-round performance.
Mitchell Starc wasted no time making an impact on his return, striking in his very first over to remove Yashasvi Jaiswal. Alongside Kyle Jamieson, he set the tone early as Delhi Capitals put Rajasthan Royals under immediate pressure.
Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel responded with a steadying stand, rebuilding after the early blows and giving Rajasthan something to work with. But DC stayed disciplined, never letting the game drift. Starc returned at the right time, struck again, and ended with figures of 3/40 as Rajasthan fought their way to a competitive total.
Chasing it down, Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul came out with intent. Boundaries flowed, the scoreboard moved quickly, and DC stormed to 70 without loss in the powerplay. The pair added 110 for the opening wicket, with Nissanka bringing up a fluent half-century, his first in the IPL.
From there, KL Rahul took complete control. Calm, assured, and always a step ahead of the chase, he guided DC home with a classy 75 off 40 balls. Nitish Rana added useful support, while Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma applied the finishing touches to wrap up a comfortable win.
KL Rahul was named Player of the Match for his match-winning knock.
DC will now look to carry this momentum into their next game against Chennai Super Kings in New Delhi.
