Delhi Capitals signed off from their campaign in emphatic fashion, registering a comprehensive 40-run victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders.

KKR won the toss and put DC into bat. Abishek Porel and KL Rahul got the team off to a flying start in the powerplay. KL Rahul produced yet another batting masterclass and imposed himself on the opposition bowling attack, bringing up his fifth 50 of the season in under 25 balls.

Upon his dismissal, Axar Patel picked up right from where he left off his last match, anchoring the innings and keeping his side in the game. Together with David Miller, the pair stitched together a quickfire 41 run partnership, powering the Capitals towards a competitive total.

Miller and Ashutosh Sharma’s destructive power-hitting in the death-overs took Delhi to a grand total of 203 runs in their 20 overs. Armed with a commanding total, it was over to the bowlers to complete the job at the Eden Gardens for DC.

Lungi Ngidi began the wicket-taking proceedings, dismissing the dangerous Finn Allen with his second ball of the match. Ajinkya Rahane led the chase, but the Delhi bowlers never allowed him to take the match away from them. Kuldeep Yadav returned to the team and the wickets column, beginning the opposition’s batting collapse.

The DC bowlers triggered a dramatic batting collapse from KKR, claiming seven wickets in five overs. The performance capped off a commanding all-round display from Delhi, who executed their plans brilliantly throughout the contest.

Kuldeep Yadav was rightfully awarded the Player of the Match award, returning figures of 3/29 and consistently building pressure on the home team.

With this victory the DC conclude their 2026 IPL Season. Although the campaign did not conclude with the outcome the Capitals had aimed for, the team displayed resilience and quality throughout several phases of the campaign.
