Delhi Capitals have completed a trade with Lucknow Super Giants that will see wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant return to the franchise, while spinner Kuldeep Yadav moves to Lucknow ahead of the upcoming season.
Pant's return marks a homecoming. Having come through the ranks at Delhi Capitals, he established himself as one of the most exciting talents in Indian cricket during his time with the team. Across 111 matches for the Capitals, Pant scored 3,284 runs and captained the side before moving to Lucknow Super Giants ahead of IPL 2025.
The left-handed wicketkeeper-batter played a key role in several memorable moments for the franchise and remains one of the most successful players to have represented Delhi Capitals in the IPL.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav departs after an impressive stint with the Capitals. Since making his debut for the franchise in IPL 2022, the left-arm wrist-spinner featured in 65 matches and picked up 72 wickets, becoming a vital part of Delhi's bowling attack. His performances during this period also helped cement his place in India's current set-up.
Delhi Capitals would like to thank Kuldeep for his immense contribution to the franchise over the last four seasons. A valued member of the squad both on and off the field, he played a crucial role in several victories and will always remain a Tiger in DC colours.
As Pant returns to familiar surroundings, Delhi Capitals look forward to beginning an exciting new chapter with one of the franchise's most beloved players back where it all began.
