IPL 2020 to commence on Sep 19 in UAE

In view of the ongoing COVID-19 situation in India, the IPL Governing Council (IPL GC) has announced that the VIVO IPL 2020 will be organized in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) subject to necessary clearances from the Government of India. Matches will be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi from 19th September 2020, with the final set to take place on 10th November 2020. The tournament will be conducted in 53 days, with afternoon matches starting at 15:30 IST and evening matches starting at 19:30 IST. 

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be finalized and published in due course by the Governing Council. It will also include the agencies to execute and deliver a bio-secure environment for safe and successful conduct of the 2020 edition of the VIVO IPL. The Governing Council has also reviewed the Player Regulations for replacement player for the VIVO IPL 2020 season and will have a detailed discussion with all franchises soon.
