Momentum with the Capitals as they take on the Super Kings

After a roaring victory against the Sunrisers, the DC Men in Blue are ready to take on the defending champions in the Chennai Super Kings, as we look to continue the winning momentum going.

The CSK vs DC clash will take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The Super Kings haven’t had their best of seasons, but Assistant Coach Pravin Amre is aware our DC boys have a battle on their hands.

"CSK has always been one of the teams to beat in the IPL. We always want to go one up against them as they set high standards for themselves. I think the toss will be crucial in our next game because of the dew factor at the DY Patil Stadium. However, the long boundaries in the stadium could be an advantage for our spinners and especially Kuldeep Yadav, who is in great form at the moment."

Momentum with DC as we take on the Super Kings

Despite missing some big names in Prithvi and Bapu last game, we held our nerve to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 21 runs, in what was our most complete batting performance yet in the words of Ricky Ponting.

The victory was set up by David Warner, who has been in sublime touch since his DC return. The southpaw has batted like a dream, and once again Davey would look to give us a power-packed start on Sunday.

The form of Rishabh Pant and Ravi Powell holds us in good stead too, with both of them striking at 150+ this season. While the DY Stadium has a big boundary, our two RPs will back themselves to clear those fences when they come out to bat.

Our top batting performance last game was followed up with an equally impressive outing with the ball. Anrich Nortje’s emotional celebration after picking up his first IPL 2022 wicket was felt by all, and DC fans will be buzzing to have our Protea Fire back, fit and firing.

With Khaleel continuing to impress and getting good support from the likes of Kuldeep and Shardul, expect another strong performance with the ball on Sunday.

STAT ATTACK

You can never keep #RP17 out of action for long, and if his record against the Super Kings is anything to go by, he’s going to be the centre of attention on Sunday as well. Rishabh averages 50.5 against CSK in the IPL, and 30 more runs against the Men in Yellow will see him bring up

4000 T20 runs.

After a slow start, Powell Power has well and truly arrived in IPL 2022. The West Indian Ace is striking at 195+ in the last 4 games, and his 39 sixes are already the highest for a T20 batter this year.

With a 3-fer in the last game, Khaleel took his tally to 14 for IPL 2022. DC’s 2nd highest wicket this year is just 4 more wickets away from the milestone of 50 IPL wickets.

KEY BATTLES

MSD vs Kuldeep

An interesting battle to watch out for as MS will take on the in-form Kuldeep. The DC tweaker has dismissed Thala twice in the last 5 innings.

Powell Power vs Theekshana

CSK’s spin ace has been giving them some much-needed breakthroughs this season, but on Sunday he’s going to come up against an in-form Powell.

Rocket Raja vs Anas

Gaikwad’s form and Anas fiery pace, a fiery new-ball battle to look for. In the past two clashes, Nortje has gotten the better of him once giving away only 20 runs in 16 balls, making it a must-watch powerplay battle.
