Capitals look to keep the momentum going against RCB

After a dominating performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders, our DC boys are ready to take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in our 5th match of IPL 2022. It will be an exciting contest between the two star-studded teams, with 2 points separating DC and RCB in the points table.

We will be playing at the iconic Wankhede Stadium for the first time this season, and our in-form pacer Khaleel Ahmed is excited at the prospect of bowling on the pace-friendly wicket.

"The ball swings at the Wankhede Stadium and therefore we have been waiting to play there. We are excited and hopefully, we can utilize the conditions, swing the ball well and take wickets."

DC boys ready to take on the Bangalore challenge

With a thumping win last game, confidence will be high in the DC camp going into the RCB clash. Prithvi Shaw and David Warner gave us an electric start in the last game, and the swashbuckling duo will look to keep the momentum going against RCB.

DC's bowling has been firing on all cylinders, and both our tweakers and speedsters will be confident of making the most of the conditions at Wankhede.

Out of all the matches played at Wankhede this season, only one match has been won batting first as the dew factor has been impactful this year as well. Thus, the toss could once again play a defining role on Saturday.

Stat Attack

Kuldeep Yadav has been in great form with 10 wickets in 4 matches. He's the highest wicket-taker for DC this season, and he’s averaging 2nd best in IPL 2022 with 11.6. On the occasion of his 50th IPL match, one can expect a power-packed performance looking at his current form.

Prithvi Shaw has been exceptional at the top of the order, with 160 runs in 4 innings and 2 half-centuries in the last two games. He could achieve an important milestone this game, with the Shaw-stopper just 35 runs away from 1500 IPL runs.

We could be in for an RP17 special at Wankhede. Our captain loves playing at the venue, where he strikes at 179.13 and averages 51.50 in the IPL. Rishabh Pant will also be vying for another record on the night – To score the most IPL runs before turning 25. At the moment, Virat Kohli holds the record and our skipper needs just 25 runs to go past him.

Key Battles

Faf vs Bapu

Bapu has a solid record against the RCB skipper, dismissing him twice in the last 8 innings and only giving away 71 runs in 63 balls. It will be a great contest between the two, and the duo could be part of a must-watch powerplay battle.

Pantastic vs Siraj

Rishab has started IPL 2022 in good touch, and he is likely to come up against his national teammate Mohammed Siraj at Wankhede. The southpaw strikes at almost 190 against the seamer, which bodes well for the DC Men in Blue in case the two face off at the death.

King Kohli vs Kuldeep

Kuldeep has made a habit of picking big wickets this IPL 2022, and his target list for RCB is likely to include Virat Kohli. Records suggest that Virat Kohli has not found it easy going against the spinner, scoring just 37 runs in 35 balls while being dismissed once. With Kuldeep in great rhythm, it will be great to see how Virat Kohli deals with his wizardry on Saturday.
