The second weekend of the DC Corporate Cup 2019 saw six teams taking the field and producing an exciting day of cricket on Saturday (October 12).
The morning session saw Amex Corp take on JSW on Ground 1 and GMR going up against Khabri Audio on Ground 2.
Winning the toss, JSW opted to bat first but were bundled out for just 49 in 12.1 overs. Ujjwal Verma was the standout bowler amongst an all-round effort by the fielding side. Amex Corp ran down the score in just 3.2 overs to register their second win of the tournament.
On Ground 2, Khabri Audio’s decision to bowl first proved to be costly as GMR finished with a massive score of 276 for 5 in their 20 overs. Pramod Dobal’s opening onslaught consisted of 18 fours and four maximums as he went on to score 118 in just 56 balls. Khabri Audio couldn’t get close to the target, managing just 120 for 8 at the end of their quota of overs.
Pavna Group took on Buddy Retail in the lone fixture of the evening session and it was the former that emerged victorious on Ground 1. Opting to bat first, Pavna Group compiled an incredible 242 for 5 in 20 overs. Sarvjeet Singh smashed an unbeaten 85 from 32 balls, inclusive of seven fours and as many maximums. But it was Swapnil Jain’s 5 for 16 that caused the maximum damage to Buddy Retail as they were dismissed for just 55 in 10 overs.

Week 3 will see six fixtures - two taking place on Saturday (October 19), followed by four on Sunday (October 20).
