DC vs GT | Delhi Capitals eye first win at Delhi in IPL 2024

After a defeat in the first match at #QilaKotla in IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals will aim to bounce back against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Wednesday at 7:30 PM IST. The team will be hopeful of repeating their recent performance against the Titans, a thumping win at Ahmedabad, and surging up the points table.

Our boys have been putting in the hard yards ahead of our titanic clash.

Meanwhile, we will also have the support of our mascot, Rocky, who was seen roaring for us with other fans in the previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Our top and the middle-order batters have been in good nick. However, they need to up the ante for the success of the side.

Players to watch out for:

Rishabh Pant:

Our skipper, Rishabh Pant, has been our most valuable asset with the bat with 254 runs for the side. He bats with a strike rate of 150.29 and has been exceptionally good in keeping the scoreboard moving.

Tristan Stubbs:

Though he departed early in the previous encounter, Tristan Stubbs remains one of the key batters for us this campaign. He has scored 199 runs in eight matches so far. In the previous fixture against GT, Stubbs also bagged two wickets and would look to add value this time too.

Jake Fraser-McGurk:

Jake Fraser-McGurk has been on a roll, scoring 140 runs in the three innings. He has been our aggressor in the powerplay, turning the tides with his hard-hitting knocks. With a strike rate of 222.22, JFM has already taken IPL 2024 by storm.

Kuldeep Yadav:

Kuldeep Yadav, who picked up four wickets in the last game, has become our most successful bowler off late. The left-arm spinner has picked up 10 wickets in five matches.

Despite being unable to scalp a wicket last time out against the Titans, Kuldeep bowled an economical spell. We can expect him to be on top of his game, once again, in this upcoming match.

Khaleel Ahmed:

Khaleel Ahmed has been our pace-bowling spearhead in the ongoing IPL campaign. He is the joint-highest wicket-taker for us this season. We can expect him to maximize his returns and add wickets to his tally in the game against GT.

Key Matchups:

Anrich Nortje vs Wriddhiman Saha

Anrich Nortje has got the better of the GT opener, Wriddhiman Saha, twice in the three innings they’ve been up against each other. Saha has faced nine deliveries off Nortje and has scored nine runs against our pacer.

Kuldeep Yadav vs David Miller

The Titans attacking batter, David Miller, has been quiet against our quality spinner, Kuldeep Yadav. Miller has faced our chinaman in four innings and has scored 26 runs off 22 balls while getting dismissed once. We can expect this to be a mouth-watering contest in the middle overs.

David Warner vs Mohit Sharma

It would be an exciting matchup when our opener, David Warner takes on Gujarat Titans’ leading wicket-taker, Mohit Sharma. Both players have shown some good form in the current season but it’s Warner who has got the upper hand over the GT bowler in this player battle. Our Aussie batter has scored 90 runs off just 48 balls in this matchup, including 14 fours and two sixes. Warner, meanwhile, is yet to be dismissed by Mohit.
