New Delhi, February 2, 2026: We marched into the playoffs after a commanding 5-wicket victory over the UP Warriorz. It was a clinical all-round display from our girls that sealed qualification for the fourth consecutive season.

Winning the toss, we opted to bowl first, a decision that paid immediate dividends. Chinelle Henry struck with the very first ball of the innings, setting the tone for us early on. Marizanne Kapp followed it up with two crucial breakthroughs, as we reduced the Warriorz to 36/3 inside the powerplay.

Our bowlers never allowed the opposition’s batters to settle. After the powerplay, the spinners took control of the game, applying the brakes on the run rate while continuing to pick up wickets at regular intervals. Sree Charani’s impressive form continued for us, as she returned figures of 2/22, conceding runs at an economy of just 5.50 from her four overs.

On the back of a commanding bowling effort, we restricted the UP Warriorz to 122/8, leaving our batters a target of 123 runs to secure qualification. Our top three began the chase with confidence, as Shafali and Laura stitched together a solid opening partnership, scoring 38 runs in the powerplay. Laura went on to play a crucial knock for us, scoring 47 runs that included seven boundaries, keeping the chase firmly on track. Playing a captain’s knock, Jemi guided the innings with composure and ensured we crossed the line, steering us into the playoffs.

Tonight’s performance was not only decisive, but thoroughly clinical, a reflection of the belief and consistency within the group. We now turn our attention to the Eliminator against the Gujarat Giants, scheduled to be played on Tuesday, 3rd February, as we continue our journey forward.
