It was a tough night in Chennai as Delhi Capitals lost to Chennai Super Kings by 23 runs.
DC captain Axar Patel won the toss again, making it four toss wins in four matches, and chose to bowl first. CSK batted well, with Sanju Samson scoring a century and useful contributions from Ayush Mhatre and Shivam Dube, to post 212. DC needed 213 to win at Chepauk.
Pathum Nissanka gave DC a strong start by attacking early and scoring 41 off 24 balls. Tristan Stubbs then kept the chase alive after coming in at 76/4. He played an important knock of 60 from 38 balls and held the innings together, but his dismissal at a key moment hurt DC’s chances.
The boys in Blue and Red fought hard, but the result did not go their way. DC now have a week to rest and recover before their next match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Bengaluru on April 18.
