Delhi Capitals impressed with the bat at home, but Punjab Kings completed the chase to win by six wickets.
After winning the toss once more, Axar opted to bat first in Delhi. KL Rahul and Nitish Rana built on their momentum from the last match with a stunning 220-run partnership in just 96 balls, setting a new record for DC and the second-highest stand in IPL history.
Rahul was the star of the show, scoring 152* of 67 balls at a phenomenal strike rate of 227. Records continued to tumble around him as he put on the highest score by an Indian in the history of the league, while also achieving his IPL career best score. He was accompanied by Nitish Rana whose knock of 91 runs helped DC end their innings scoring 264 runs, the highest team total of the season so far.
PBKS batted magnificently and chased down 265 runs to win the match, led by their skipper Shreyas Iyer and accompanied by knocks from Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya.
DC will regroup quickly as they prepare for their next game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Monday, 27th April.
