Our Tigers travel to the picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala to face Punjab Kings in our penultimate fixture of the TATA IPL 2023.

The match will be our second straight clash against PBKS. Having fallen short by 31 runs in the reverse fixture, our boys will be out for payback this Wednesday.

Courtesy of last week’s win at the Qila Kotla, PBKS hold a 16-15 lead over us in the  head-to-head records but David Warner and Co. will look to level the score at Dharamshala.

Players to watch out for

Ishant Sharma

The conditions at Dharamshala typically aid the seamers and our local boy Ishant Sharma’s ability to swing the ball both ways may prove crucial in the match. Our Iceman has been in great form this season with eight wickets from seven matches.

David Warner

Our skipper has been our top run-getter this season with 384 runs. The Australian ace even notched up a half-century against PBKS in our last outing, albeit in a losing cause. We’ll be counting on him again to give us a positive start with the bat.

Key battles:

Prabhsimran Singh vs Mitchell Marsh

It was Prabhsimran Singh’s century which took the match away from us at the Qila Kotla last Saturday. Mitchell Marsh has been our go-to man for early breakthroughs this season and we’ll be looking to Marsh once again on Wednesday to remove Prabhsimran’s threat.

Phil Salt vs Harpreet Brar

Harpreet Brar picked up 4/30 at the Qila Kotla last Saturday to derail our chase. Unsettling the spinner early in his spell will be the key to our success and Phil Salt’s big-hitting up top can deliver exactly that.
