#DCvRR Preview: Our boys aim for a Top 2 spot with a win at #QilaKotla!

AS THINGS STAND

We had moved to the top of the table after our win against RCB at home. However, the away loss to CSK and SRH's loss to Mumbai Indians has resulted in us moving to the 3rd place on the table.

We currently have 16 points from 13 matches and must win our final home game by a good margin to give us a solid chance to make it to the top 2.

Rajasthan, on the other hand, are at 5th position on the table with 11 points from 13 matches. They are on a resurgent run and have won 3 out of their previous 5 games while rain played spoilsport in their game against RCB.

It is an important encounter for both the teams. Paddy Upton and his troops will also not be leaving any stone unturned as they still have a chance of making it to the playoffs.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTER

Our previous encounter with the Royals was a high-scoring thriller at Jaipur.  Rajasthan had set up a total of 191 after we put them in to bat first. Shaw's important 42, Dhawan's quickfire fifty, and Pant's blitzkrieg of 78 off 36 deliveries had helped us chase down the total in 19.2 overs.

STAT GURU:

A) Head to Head:

Matches: 19

Won by Delhi Capitals: 8

Won by Chennai Super Kings: 11

No Result: 0

B) Form Guide:

Delhi Capitals: L W W W L

Rajasthan Royals: NR W W L W

C) Approaching Milestones:

4: Shikhar Dhawan is only 4 sixes away from completing 100 sixes in the tournament.

3: With 83 sixes, Pant needs 3 more sixes to become the highest six-hitter for Delhi in IPL by surpassing Sehwag (85).

THE GAME-CHANGERS

After scoring three back to back fifties, Dhawan could not make an impact in our previous game against CSK. Gabbar has been in sublime form and has been the top-scorer for us. Our experienced opener will look to ensure that he gives us a blazing start during the powerplay in our upcoming match.

Rishabh Pant's performance will be crucial for us in the upcoming match. He did exceptionally well against the Royals when we faced them last. Our dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman must come out all guns blazing in the all-important game at Kotla.

Ever since the baton of captaincy was passed on to Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane has looked in great nick with the bat. He followed up the century against us with a 34 against KKR and 39 against SRH. We must dismiss Rahane as early as possible.

Shreyas Gopal's confidence will be sky high after taking a hat-trick in the rain-affected match against RCB. The wrist spinner has clinched 18 wickets in 13 games at a terrific strike rate of 14.66 and economy rate of 7.40. He will play a pivotal role for the opposition on the slow Kotla pitch.

Probable Starting XI:

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Sherfane Rutherford, Axar Patel, Sandeep Lamichhane/Jagadeesha Suchith, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Trent Boult

*The above playing XI is just an educated judgement. The final playing XI always rests in the hands of the Team Management.

Today’s game marks our final home game of the season and our DC boys will look to end the league stage campaign on a winning note for all our fans!
