Pathum Nissanka arrives in Delhi, not just to bolster our batting unit, but also as one of the most prolific run-machines in world cricket today.
Between 2024 and early 2026, he established himself at the top of the global run-scoring charts, trailing only Joe Root for the most international runs scored in this period. He is a true-all format elite, being one of only four Sri Lankans to have scored centuries in each format of the game.
He is currently in the form of his life, especially in the shortest format, coming off a sublime T20 World Cup, where he smashed a breathtaking ton against Australia. Given his sub-continental background, Pathum’s superb spin-hitting abilities will come in handy at the top of the order. He also possesses the ability to anchor an innings while maintaining a high octane strike-rate.
Pathum’s prowess will soon be on show for Delhi and we hope that our modern-day maestro can continue his brilliant form at the Kotla.
