About Auqib Nabi

The Baramulla Express has arrived at Delhi! Auqib Nabi joins the Capitals as the premier pace bowler in the domestic circuit, fresh from leading Jammu & Kashmir to a historic maiden Ranji Trophy title.

A right-arm medium-fast bowler with the ability to swing the ball both ways, whose consistency is unmatched, Auqib’s rise is the stuff of legends. While he does his talking with the ball, he is also a clean striker who provides massive depth to the DC lower order. His nerves of steel and composure

Auqib’s 2025-26 season was nothing short of a work of art. He not only won J&K their first Ranji Trophy but also finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 60 wickets and as the Player of the Series. Auqib showed he has what it takes on the big stage. He delivered match-winning spells against Karnataka in the final taking 5 wickets for 54 runs and against Madhya Pradesh in the Quarter Final, ending the game with match figures of 12/110, his career best.

He also showed his all-round ability in the Vijay Hazare. Auqib smashed a breathtaking 114 off 82 balls* against Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Coming in at No. 8 with the team reeling at 90/7, he orchestrated a world-record 182-run partnership to pull off an impossible win.

With the pace of a rocket and the heart of a champion, Auqib is definitely going to leave DC fans wanting more this season. Stay strapped into your seats as he blazes through batting lineups under the lights at the Kotla!
